Hi all,
Wondered if you could help me, I bought a diet meal replacement protein shake before I found out that I had diabetes 4 weeks ago. Just wondered if I can still have it or steer clear? Any help would be great, thanks.
Yes I have a meter, so could check it. But yes the 100g has a big hit on carbs. May try a 75g and see if it is filling enough and what happens to my BG.25g carb/100g is quite high and the pack says a serving is 54g which doesn’t seem very realistic if it’s a liquid shake, so you could end up with quite a ‘hit’ in terms of carbs.
Personally I’d steer clear, but do you have a meter so you can test the impact on your blood sugars? That’s really the only way to see whether a food is ‘safe’ for you.
