Good news hope this shifts things for you and great supportAs you are all aware of the trouble I have had with my gp prior to a couple of months ago where he blatantly ignored me re various help and treatment.
On Wednesday just gone, I saw my psych which was a planned appointment. On the Tuesday, I had a call from his secretary asking if I could go in at 11.30 instead of 10 am. She did say that the appointment would be a long one but for me not to worry. Normally people are only given half an hour. Of course I did worry.
Wow what an interesting 2 hour meeting.
Psych had all copies of letters sent to my gp, that were sent to him after each appt with him.
15 letters were sent requesting various tests or further investigations that psych had asked gp to do, and not one was followed up by gp.
Reason for this long appointment was that my psych is now going to contact the people who deal with gps who do not follow up on requests made/suggested by a consultant that patients are under. I can't remember the people the psych said about where he is making the complaint too.
Psych wanted to tell me himself what he is doing.
Very interesting

I realise now just how bad he has been.Wow! Ally, it just goes to show that your determination to get things sorted was worth it. This GP has imo been extremely arrogant and should, by rights, be held up in front of the RCGPs as a prime example of how not to treat patients.
Well done that lass.
Thank you. By rights I should have been discharged from the psych a couple of years ago but he kept me on his books because he knew I was getting nowhere with my surgery.Ally - I think I'm in love with your Psych (although don't tell my MrB). What a guy! He really is determined to look after you, as he should.
I bet you felt on top of the world with all this? You're getting some decent care, and your Psych is ensuring your GP's shortcomings aren't going unnoticed.
I just really wish you hadn't had to endue this over the years.

Thank you. I have no idea how I would have coped if my bipolar was badI’m glad your psyche consultant is referring this to the proper channels, and well done to you for persevering with such difficult times, lesser mortals would have buckled. Things should now work out far better for you going forwards x
Yes he has changed my life.Ally, in life, I have found, there are some people who change our lives. Even when we don't see these people for a while, or even if they go from our physical lives, we never forget them.
In his own way, by both professionalism and kindness, this man has changed yours.
