just got the news that the clinical team at addenbrookes have approved my pump referral. :D

Now over to the PCT

Woohoo! Clinic has agreed mine and are confident I'll get funding when it goes to the board.

Any indication of when you'll start?

That is great news, keep us updated :)

Thanks guys,

no tiemline yet, but I've been told it could easily take three months, which would put it smack in the middle of training for my 40-miler.

Not ideal! But I guess you take what you can get.

Endo gave me an estimated start date of the end of the year. I'll take that!

Good stuff!!
My application was meant to be at the board for approval 3 weeks ago but haven't heard anything from them yet.
Always good to hear that people are managing to get the treatment that they want.

How exciting!

Sometimes I wonder if I just got really lucky with mine, I went to an appointment with the intention of mentioning a pump but I got asked if I would consider one before I could bring it up myself, it was the registrar so he popped out, spoke to consultant then came back in and said he agreed so they put my name down. I didn't hear anything for a couple of months but turns out that was an error so when I went back they asked why I hadn't started then organised a dietician appointment and a pump start appointment for about 2 weeks later and I was off! Though I didn't get a choice of pump at that hospital when I moved and came back home they just continued and when it was up for a new one they let me choose whichever I wanted. I am so grateful for my pump, can't imagine going back to being without it now!

Got my timeline through in the post today
8/Aug - Pump intro and selection (the week after my 40 miler, luckily)
9/Sep or 14/Oct - saline start
16/Sep or 21/Oct - Insulin start

Need to try and fit all of those dates around work that is already pre-planned that far ahead, but it's a nice dilemma to have.

aaaaarrrrgh!

2 weeks, 2 weeks, 2 weeks.

Spoke to the pump admin person today about timings (which were all inconvenient to me) adn I now have a pump selection day in just under two weeks on 6th May.

Choice of 5 pumps
- Medtronic Veo
- Omnipod
- New Roche one, anyone know what that is?
- Animas - not sure which model
- cellnovo should just be available to me

Off to do a bit of reasearch now.

5! Awesome! We had choice of 3.

Would the Roche be the Accu Chek Combo? Depends what they mean by "new" exactly.
