It is not OK. Grains includin oats spikes the blood sugar esp for diabeticsMy sugars 9.7mmol fasting
Had microwave porridge and semi skimmed milk
2 hours later sugars 12.3
Is this ok or is porridge a no no?
Yes, the values are correct, the porridge is a no goIs this ok or is porridge a no no?
12.3mmol might not be a medical emergency it it’s way too high 2 hrs after eating for what I’m assuming is a non medicated a type 2 and will be harm of the long slow burn variety instead. It’s going to take some time to drop to a decent level too. Damage from high blood glucose significantly increase about 7.8mmol (why they set the diagnostic levels there).Yes, the values are correct, the porridge is a no go
But 12.3 is not horrible. So no worries.

So it looks like the porridge didn't raise you that much so the insulin seems to be working pretty well to deal with this meal.My sugars 9.7mmol fasting
