I’m type 2 diabetic just recently diagnosed just wondered how quick you can drop sugar level and what’s best way to do it ,say from 12.0 down to about 6

Do you have your own glucose meter for testing at home? That is the first thing you should do.
The quickest way is to restrict your carbohydrates, particularly bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, pastry, breakfast cereals and fruit.

What are your doing at the moment, diet-wise?

The problem is the carbohydrates - eat the densely starchy or high sugar foods and your blood glucose will rise.
Many type twos start off at 50 gm of carbs a day and use a meter to test after eating to understand what they can eat. Different foods affect people differently - I need to avoid legumes, oats cause a rise in levels which lasts into the next day - but for some barely a flicker.

I should have mentioned it I’m on about the same day I have been monitoring, but back in uk I found it easier to stick to specific foods , on holiday it’s not quite so easy and some of my readings have got quite high .This could have a big effect on my hba1c in 6 weeks time .

Without medication you are relying on your body and it's natural functions to reduce the BG level.

The state of your pancreas, the amount of insulin you produce and your overall insulin sensitivity will all play a part.

Probably the only other natural way to get your BG down would be to go for a run, or maybe a long walk.
