So just needing to get this off my chest. I'm having an awful time with this lovely condition lately. So for years I've not been the perfect diabetic but I used to be able to achieve HCA1s of 49 percent which is almost non Type 1 level. Since I contracted COVID early 2022 I've not been able to get up to speed since. My last HCA1 was 58 which doesn't sound terrible but for the last 3 months I've been awful. I've been on and off unwell and my insulin ratios are out of the window. On my libre for the past 3 months I've spent 43 percent of my time in the green . According to the libre my hca1 has gone up to 65 . I need to go back to basics but one blood sugar sends me into a hissy fit. Am I suffering from a Diabetes burnout? I'm genuinely so done with it at the moment. Thank you for reading.

I feel your pain @JCBBFC27

It seems like whenever my bgs get into a good place, coasting along nicely in the green, I get a day when they rise and stubbornly stay out of range,

And I can manage a week (sometimes 2) where my predicted hba1c is under 50, but when it comes to the last two tests they've both been 52. (Not a figure that I'm desperately unhappy with but given I have a cgm I feel it could be better).

The only thing I really notice makes a difference is getting my basal right, so I'm steady through the night. (Apologies if you are on a pump, not going to make any suggestions on that). And I appreciate that the point of your rant is that you rates are changing, all I can do is send you virtual hugs.

Thank you!! I've been here before, it's just a long frustrating journey to get back to good again.

So sorry you're having such a rough time @JCBBFC27

When you're unwell, the last thing you feel like doing is bothering about diabetes. Have you spoken to your hospital team, as a bit of support from them may be helpful at the moment. I think diabetes burnout affects most type 1's at some point, but have you considered Long Covid as another possibility? I'm not medically qualified, and we're not allowed to diagnose on the forum, but it might be worth mentioning to your gp.
