Reactive hypoglycemia .. !?

I can tolerate some porridge but only if I eat three large eggs fried lightly in loads of olive oil soaked up by flaked almonds first. Then two table spoons piled of jumbo porridge oats spike me to 6.2 otherwise the porridge alone would have me well above 8. D.

When I test after 30m or 1hr .. and what the accepted renga of the blood glucose

That is a very difficult question to answer!

Because we are all different in our RH response.

All I can say is to watch for 2 things. Firstly a high figure in the first hour or so (try testing every 15 mins to find how high you go), and secondly, see if your blood glucose dips into RH later.

Sorry if that is a bit vague, but each of us is so unique. Your reaction will be different from mine.

How much the figure Im looking for!?

6,7,8,9!?

It depends on your body.

For me, it is more about the speed of the rise and the drop, than it is about the numbers.

So I could go up to 10 slowly, and then back down again slowly, and not get RH.

But if I went up to 9 really quickly and then down as fast, then I would hypo.

But your body may be different. The only way to learn what works for you, is to test different foods and see.

I couldn't understand it at all ..

Let us say

If my BG was before eating 5
And I tested it every 15m for whole Hour

How can I now this is a spike or not ..

I will see if I can find some pictures that explain it better. But it will take a while to find them.

I did what you told me

Eat one normal size oat bread nothing with it only a glass of water

And test it

Before was .. 78 - 4.2
15m .. 77 - 4.2
30m .. 96 - 5.3
45m .. 105 - 5.8
60m .. 123 - 6.8
75m .. 107 - 5.9
90m .. 96 - 5.3
105m .. 96 - 5.3
120m .. 86 - 4.7
135m .. 84 - 4.6

So is it spike or what

Still didn't understand it?

In my pre diagnosis days before I started to get control and then my experimental period, my pre meal reading would be in normal range, more than often in the high fours to mid fives mmols. After fifteen minutes it would be around eight or nine, then if I was eating carbs, by the hour mark, I would be well into double figures, spiking around 105 minutes! (The highest reading!)
Then slowly recede back down to near normal levels after three hours (the eat again period to prevent hypos!) But if I didn't eat, I would continue down into hypo levels at between three and a half hour and four. Sometimes later if I ate carbs with high saturated fat.
I realised that most carbs are too risky too eat!

To me that is really good readings!
You are only above normal range and that is debatable, after an hour.
No spikes!

Can you keep testing for another hour?

I sorry I didn't see your reply .. I just eat so I can sleep

What you mean above normal range?

Normal range, (although disputed), is usually between 3.8 and 6mmols!
But it can be different for some.

Make sure you post your next hours readings!

Unless you want to repeat it again tomorrow.

I couldn't understand you .. you frighten me

I google it and found this

Independent of what they eat, the blood sugars of truly normal people are:

Under 120 mg/dl (6.6 mmol/L) one or two hours after a meal.

Most normal people are under 100 mg/dl (5.5 mmol/L) two hours after eating.

My glucose test last week was

Fasting 81
1h 143
2 81

So it means Im diabetic?

No one here is a doctor, we cannot diagnose you. You will need to discuss your results with your doctor.

I can tell you that your glucose test results are better than mine was and I am not diabetic

That is not correct!
Normal blood glucose levels are between 4and 6mmols fasting.
Normal non diabetic can spike higher but then return to near the pre meal reading.

Definitely not!

After two hours, your blood glucose levels should return near or just below the pre meal reading.
So if your pre meal is five, if you return after two hours to a little above or a little below that pre meal reading then that is good.

Did you take the next hour reading?

Maybe the cause the monitor accuracy deferent from the hospital lap

In tow hours its almost near

But you maintain 1 hour is high like diabetic?

After the test is oat bread good or bad for me
