I’m ok at following diets and the main meal recipes are great but I would never spend that amount of time and money on breakfast or lunch any sensible ideas for quick healthy breakfasts and lunches. Also, I can’t eat much for lunch a snack would be great.

What about eggs, bacon, sausage etc, some ham and cheese, a salad for lunch, doesn't have to be big and fancy, some meat or fish with tomato some lettuce or mixed salad leaves etc x

Thanks Kaylz91, Think I’m taking the recipes too literally! I’ll skip breakfast and scoff an omelette for lunch. Would like to know how many eggs you can safely eat a week though?

I'm afraid I cant answer that, one of the reasons being I don't believe in all that, I eat 6 a week at least having omelettes but would personally eat as many as I wanted x

I eat around 11 eggs per week on my low carb eating and my cholesterol numbers improved at my last review, if it’s cholesterol you’re worried about?

My most indulgent breakfast this week has been, extra thick double cream, raspberries, strawberries, a sprinkle of sliced almonds and a grated square of dark chocolate (14g of carbs - discovered raspberries are high!!!!) I've also had avocado and bacon slices with salad, and salad with cheese and pickled onions, dark leaf salad with feta and olives for lunches. This morning it was scrambled eggs, bacon and avocado. I'm trying the coconut flour pancakes tomorrow. And have purchased various cheese and cold cut meats for a Mediterranean flavour one day, can tailor for breakfasts and lunches!

Edited to add - we make a huge bowl of salad on a Sunday and use it for pack up lunches most of the week - you could buy bagged salad that would last a few days if time is short.

Raspberries aren't that high, they are only around 5g per 100g x
I don't suppose they are in the grand scheme of things but out of a 14g breakfast, 8g were the raspberries. Although having said that it only raised my blood by 2.2mmol/l so probably not as bad as I am making them out. I am still having to get used to measuring, counting etc so it's good to be challenged on that! I am trying to pick foods at 4g per 100g so 8g seemed a lot but clearly it's not :)

More than happy to have my thinking challenged, thank you for that - I genuinely would have reduced raspberries on that thinking, for no actual good reason!

That's weird Eggs (Yolks) are full of cholestrol and you are supposed to limit them to no more than 7 or 8 a week.I've always loved Eggs!!!

I agree about the raspberries. I have 7 to 10 on my porridge most mornings and my readings are always around
6.5 following breakfast :)

But there are theories that your cholesterol levels aren’t fully attributable to the food you eat but the majority of cholesterol is produced by your own body. @bulkbiker and @Bluetit1802 know more than me about it.

All I know is what I've read, that foods which contain cholesterol such as eggs have no effect at all on our body cholesterol. Dietary cholesterol and body cholesterol are not related. Our liver makes our cholesterol. You can eat as many eggs as you like.

I have a three egg omelette every day with various extras such as cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc.

That's four dozen eggs a fortnight, the remaining eggs get boiled up to put in low low carb wraps with cold meat and salad.
