In May this year - on first diagnosis - my HbA1C was 75 - since then I've been using a BG monitor, and today it gave me my first estimated reading - down to 37 !!

I know there's a margin of error with these things, but I'm fingers crossed that it's not far off..... My next blood test in in the middle of August.....

I've followed an all out Keto diet, and only a couple of times have I gone over the carb limit. I cut out all bread, rice, pasta and concentrated on above ground veg, meat and a range of fruit - I added in more dairy, and kept on the full fat milk..
I've lost a stone in weight - feel much better - and unless it's my imagination - food tastes better as well.

Overall, I hope I'm on the road to remission - I'm not on any medication - and hope to remain that way - fingers crossed for me.... and I'll keep up the hard work.... it's worth it.....

Best wishes, should be good news. I was 78 in April at diagnosis, have gone low carb (no potatoes, pasta, rice, white bread etc) and just got my results =30, am very chuffed. :)

Great work, Yes, you can grin as your doctor lifts his jaw off the floor.

Brilliant result! Just don't be too surprised if some HCP says 'oh, but you must eat carbohydrate!'

My A1c was 124 when I was diagnosed in May. I had another one yesterday and am eagerly awaiting the results! Given how high it was and the fact it's only about 9 weeks ago, I know it will be skewed by May's glucose levels but am hoping for below 60 this time. Waiting for blood results is like waiting to be hung!

Crikey yes.... I've got a phone consultation with the nurse on august 12, and a blood test on the 19th - waiting till the 26th will be agony.......
