Regular moderate exercise log

A back workout today, a warm up then pull downs to 80kg, one handed kneeling rows to 40kg, seated rows to 50kg, bent over rows to 45kg and shrugs up to the 38kg dumb bells, no deadlifts :) 5 sets of each dropping reps increasing the weight each time.

Not a bad Tuesday :)

I was getting a fair bit of arm exercise teaching about correct carrying techniques today. The students were enjoying putting up some resistance once they realised what I was demonstrating and were amazed how little strength they had with out-stretched arms.

Made a good start on the next 1000 days of walking as well. Amazing what a bit of walking off deep frustration with those with the power to make decisions who do them badly can do for the day's step counts.

Hi all. After a ticking over day yesterday- 12,763 steps - went for it today. Had to wait in for the plumber this morning so it was a much later start than usual. Glorious sunny day meant I decided to abandon football and go for a long walk in the sun - shorts out again! Walk plus shopping = 28,141 steps of which 19,439 were aerobic.
Sounds wonderful having a long walk in the sun.
I am having my usual swimming techniques lessons tomorrow at 8.00AM . Did butterfly last week and I slept like a dead log!

Hi all. Celebrating tonight - I chose when to stop swimming, the cramp didn’t win! 60 lengths. A few twinges of cramp in the toes but they’re easy to manage.

Just over 10k steps getting from a to b.

Doesn't even sound much to me but from the starting point of how I felt this morning I am very pleasantly surprised. Swimming lesson went far better than I feared and 13.4k steps when I was doubtful I would make 10. Still way off where I want to be but inch by inch as they say.

Well done, if the pool is 25 M next time add 4 more laps, 64 laps = a mile.

Will end up 22.6k steps today. Like to say I enjoyed it or feel it did me any good but both would be lies. Must be better than sitting about. However, I discovered I could do that many steps and will find out if stenosis or willpower is going to control me. Satisfaction at hitting a target (20k) no pain or problems but no enjoyment. Just a mechanical racking up of steps - will work on that.

Brilliant!

13k steps for me today and 15 mins on the static bike this morning.
Will do 10mins of core exercises now, before bed.

Good stepping, were you out with the dogs? Always makes for a more enjoyable walk in my opinion.

Took the dogs twice but the ground is a little too hard for me right now. I am going to investigate Decathlon for Nordic walking shoes. No idea how that will work with 2 dogs without driving them somewhere to start. Can't get shoes to suit properly. Running trainers are too cushioned/bouncy and walking shoes are too hard - nightmare.

I’d forgotten you’d started Nordic walking - is that what you were doing yesterday to give such a stellar step count? I still haven’t found a group near me but I don’t think my foot would cope .I still get neuropathic pain if I walk far (collateral damage from abdo surgery last year when nerves leading into left leg were involved)
I’ve heard such good things about it though.

No, just grinding out steps mechanically - set a target and hit it. Just over 23k in the end. Waiting for softer ground to put Nordic walking to the test properly. Have tried some small walks but I need to keep away from paths. Cambers and unyielding surfaces not great for me.

Makes it even more impressive then!

A half decent leg session but no swim, I had a sleeping hypo and a mini repeat mid morning and I've trended low all day so left the swim alone :) legs were the standard squats, extensions, curls and calf raises, I worked up to 115kg x 4 for my heaviest set of 6 sets, then up to the same for calf raises on the smith machine, that wiped any energy I had left out so went quite light on the extensions and curls, 5 sets each.
I'll be good at sitting down tonight I think :p

Spent too much time sitting trying to solve an IT issue today. Managed 14k+ steps despite that so not a total waste. Perhaps just taking it easy through the September lurgy may prove to have been a smart move. We shall see.
