Regular moderate exercise log

So frustrating when you can’t stick to your normal routine, isn’t it?
Very. While you "can't out exercise a bad diet" you can certainly under exercise it. Wrong thread but being forced to rest had me trawling through my records for how I dealt with this (diabetes) initially. Very interesting.
Today will end up approx 15K sreps and 40 mins on exercise bike at 65% max hr - after 2 days using a walking stick I am happy with that.

assistance work last night lat pull downs full stack 10x4, shrugs 140kg 15x3, face pulls heavy 15x3. I have also entered a qualifier for next years British powerlifting Championships, it is in November this year so I had better get my finger out and "get some work in " as my wife says.

Thursday legs, the gym was quiet but everybody seemed to be whee I wanted to be so I missed squats and used their leg press machine, I hurt my left knee on their other one so took it easy whilst hogging it to myself :p 80kg x15 up in 10kg raises to 140kg x 6 with no ill effects on my knee, tho I used leg wraps for protection, leg extension up to the full stack x 5, leg curls were lighter as I was blowing a bit by this time then performed a "if you're not fast you're last" manoeuvre to gab the smith machine for some calf raises :)

Then some sets of db bicep curls as I reckon I need to start training my arms if I'm going to up my presses. I was up at 10mmol when I started, 7.2 at the end which was quite cool too...

Cooler weather here today, so a very enjoyable all day walk. Splendidly moderate as to pace, but totally immoderate numbers have appeared on the pedometer and spreadsheet. Oops.

I cannot begin to express how pleasing it was that my lunchtime blood sugars number check was absolutely perfect as I ground to a halt by the hospital (Um, nearest toilets I could think of at the time...). I took great delight in sitting on a wall opposite the diabetes clinic to give myself my carefully adjusted fast acting dose, eat my lunch AND was spot on for cake four hours later! :D

Sounds as though you had a great day @Japes - more power to your elbow

It was lovely, thank you. I am definitely so much better walking when it's a bit cooler than it has been. I'm sitting quietly now, just waiting for the washing machine to finish!

Good evening folks. Very few steps today - 7k by end of day. Have done 2 X 30 mins on the exercise bike. 2nd time was 80% max hr on monitor - may not be accurate but higher than usual so encouraging

Strange today. I got up to a 6'9 fasting at 9am before breakfast. Went for a 45 min walk with doggy and 2 hours later it was only 7'0. So exercise does work. Must increase it.

I’m really convinced exercise works. Almost every time it lowers my BG

40 Minuit walk this morning in extremely strong wind and i mean almost blow you over wind.:hilarious: So i walked into the wind and that was strength training, i'm going to pretend, so added benefit. The down side was the dog couldn't go with me as the wind would have blown him off the mountain. He is still sulking.:(

Hi all.

Missed posting yesterday which saw a modest 12,704 steps.

Worked at home today which means more sitting around. Compensated with 3 decent walks to run errands, last of which was over 10k steps in one hit. Total steps = 20,144

Edited to correct typo.

Evening all. Currently - 23.13 - Mrs P and middle son are roaming Southampton trying to find us an air bed to sleep on :arghh: That aside, even with 5 hr journey in pouring rain I have managed 12k steps today. Not great but some movement at least.

Saturday shoulders, blood a touch too high and they seem to stiffen slightly when so, so another lightish session, db press, bb press, front raises, side raises bent over cable side raises, face pulls and finished with trap rowing, all sets of four, bloods up at 9.7 from trying to 'fine tune' my basal :)

A 'golf ball' massage for the back of my neck later to see if I can free the nerve that's stiffened my shoulder.

Long walk today - 6 miles - supplemented by various shorter trips and general mooching. 23,627 steps.

Didn't do yesterday . So am going to include it here. So yesterday was 1 hour pretty brisk walking and after noon half an hour. Today which is 10.30 am in Australia 40 minuets of walking hoping to do another this afternoon weather permitting. Have a great day all or night.:singing:

Yesterday 5km run at 9 am, BG was at 10.5 before the run still similar immediately after then it crept down to 6 by 4 pm after a 4 hour walk with a stop at 1pm for a glass of wine and a pint of water. I ate meatballs and ribs with another glass of wine at 4pm with nothing but tea and water after that. BGs were up in the 10s from 5am and I slept until 8am BGs didn’t come down to 6s and 7s until after a 2 mile run
