Rise in numbers of children with type 2 diabetes

40 years ago we went to work on an egg, cakes were naughty but nice, oranges were still a luxury (remember getting one in your Christmas stocking?) and we walked and we played outside - running games.

Today, we are told to feed our kids healthy museli (shoot me), 5 a day - it's always fruit, (bite me) and we encourage our kids to sit in and learn to use computers and touch screens, we even have derogatory names for athletic kids.

Frankly, I'm surprised the number isn't higher, but its still early days yet.

I'm third generation Type 2. My kids now train in the gym 5 days a week and I try to watch what they eat - but it's not easy when they are nearly 18 and they're not quite ready to hear about some of the personal problems I have to face.

T2, Oct 15, met time release, diet and a hell of a lot of exercise. Winning, most of the time.
