It has been recommend today, that Gp's commence patients with a 10% chance of heart attacks etc, to start taking Statins. I was wondering, since T2 is on the rise (especially in the over 50's) if there was any research to support a theory that this rise is linked to the rise in people taking statins? eg; people being diagnosed with T2 AFTER being started on statins??
