My bs readings over the last week are, for me very high at 8.5 can’t understand why.
They are high in the morning and only go down by 0.5 during day used to be in mid 5’s haven’t changed diet (low carb) so anyone know why

It sounds like you need to see your doctor - but can you tell us what you are eating?

There can be confusion about 'good' carbs - and low GI is often suggested as being good - but I just get higher for longer in my results.

Not really but you are making me think I changed red wine so maybe but I am panicking when the readings go through 8 as i dont really know good top levels

Do you feel well? Often infection can raise levels and stress can affect them, too.

Brand of red wine bit of stress we flew to gran canaria a couple of weeks ago so flying could that do it
I don’t feel ill

True. We flew home last saturday and bloods were a bit higher than normal but we were also sick. Finally coming into range again. They stayed perfect flying there though.
I did however over eat a shrimp Cobb salad. Still low carb and all just a much larger portion than usual and I did pay the price stomach and bg wise.

Hopefully it will level out for you soon. I would t think the brand would matter unless it’s much sweeter. Wine requires me to take more insulin than spirits.

Then it looks like a trip to see your GP/DN is needed, keep a note of your levels to show him/her and have a chat about an earlier HbA1c. Good luck.

One last....even though you’re eating low carb have your evening portions changed/ grown?

Flying to GC would reduce my stress levels.
Flying back, however............

you often pickup mild bugs flying. maybe cut out the new wine for a week and see. also be strict on your carb counting and portion control and see. i would be shocked at this time of the year if a little extra rich food has been added.

Try not to vary whats worked for me just worried liver dumps am used to go down now they’re not.
Is it a progressive disease so do I need to go on medication, god I hope not

It's only been a week, you could have a cold/bug etc , hope it comes back down for you

Hi. Although your readings have gone up they are still very good so I wouldn't worry at all at the moment. Just keep using the meter and see the GP/DN if they start going into the teens.
