No you don't. You can bolus from the pump but to do basal eate changes, change more detailed things at leisure then it is so easy to do from the handset...

Everyday functioning for work can be done from the pump.

Due to the enormous amount of detail available with the insight pump it cannit hd everything on the Insight handset either.
Some things like 15 minute basal rates have to be dine on the 360 degree software and downloaded to the pump.

Me, I dont download at all. Certain actions like cannula fill, tube fill etc have to be done on pump but everything else I do on remote. That is solely because I wear pump on my arm.

Yes you can.you can set rates for illness etc if wanted too.
I'm farm sitting at the moment and forgot my remote handset!! Am absolutely lost without it!!
Fortunately I always carry a spare tester so Ican still test etc. feel absolutely lost without the remote though!
You multi wave and extended bolus' says well...but in addition this pump has lag time for bolusing so if I am say 4-5 bg before eating I actually set it to deliver 15 mins after I have started to eat.

Temp basals yes, including "favourites", BG wizard no, not on pump. You need to do your own maths there if you are going to bolus directly from the pump.
