Rybelsus

I was started on this a few months ago and it was a life changer. I lost over 2 stone, am walking more and going to Aquafit twice weekly and eat a high protein diet. I felt great, the tiredness stopped. Now I can’t get hold of it and am back to Metformin, am keeping the weight at bay but have had 3 hypo’s since coming off the Rybelsus and back to that feeling very tired phase. My GP thinks I may need to go on insulin until Rybelsus becomes available again. I think the manufacturers should only make what they are producing at the moment available to diabetic clinic as it is literally life changing to the diabetic community.

Welcome to the Forum.

Could you add some information to your profile - I would assume you are a T2 from the information here?
I wouldn't expect a T2 to have hypos on metformin, have you spoken to your diabetic nurse/GP about this?

I agree with @TriciaWs it is very unlikely to go hypo on just Metformin. Did you actually check your blood sugar when you felt hypo?

I'd be interested to hear thoughts on my current Blood Glucose levels.....
In May this year I was prescribed Rybelsus 3mg and Metformin doubled to 2mg pd.
Last week I increased Rybelsus to 7mg as 3mg are not available ATM.
Every day since, I've had low BG levels at times during the night and less often during waking hours.
My sense is that it's due to increased medication though I'm also dealing with my mother dying last week.
