Are ryvita OK to have for breakfast if so what with any ideas please

As @Rachox said in response to your "Carrot sticks" thread: "There’s only one way to find out! Test before eating and 2 hours afterwards and see what they do to your blood sugars."

We are all different so it is not easy to recommend what to eat. Many eat eggs for breakfast but that may not suit you.

If you are trying to cut carbs significantly then no.

If you look at the label on the back of the packet you will see the carbohydrate content of the food within.
Personally I would recommend avoiding anything with more than 5g per 100g of carbohydrate (ignore the "of which sugars" part).
Ryvita have 66g of carbohydrate per 100g so are highly likely to cause spikes.
Plus they taste like cardboard.

Can you get low carb bread and where would you get it from please

Thanks how many carbs are you meant to have a day

Diane, as others have said, the best way is to find out how many carbs are in what you want to eat, (one Ryvita has around 7g in) so eat it and see how you go, the low carb bread slice might also have 7g a slice so take your pick. x

Or avoid bread and bread type things completely and just eat what you were going to put on them.. providing its not marmalade or jam of course.

better off with bacon and eggs tomatos and mushrooms high meat sausage ect, just ditch the bread/starch

There are no rules as to how many carbs you have it is whatever you feel suits you. Some here do very low carb others find moderate is best for them anything up to about 120gm a day is low carb

Everyone is different, some manage with less than 100 grams of carbs a day, some have to have less than 50, some have to have less than 20g. There is no set amount, you can only tell by using your meter.

And dammit I'm now stuck in the office thinking about bacon and eggs, dammit!

Bergen Linseed and Soya bread is about the lowest in carbs and popular with many people here it is available in supermarkets but I have never seen it in Aldi or Lidl

OK thanks sorry you are stuck in the office thinking of bacon and egg

Everyone is different and we are all free to make our own choices, but personally I got sick of this negotiating with carbohydrate malarkey. To me it felt like I was constantly peering at labels, counting crackers and weighing everything. Still hungry when I’d finished eating, and starving two hours later.

Then I ditched carbs completely and haven’t looked back. But each to their own, and whatever works for the individual. As others have said, the only way you’ll know for sure is to test before and after eating :)

Not everyone can eat bacon, not everyone wants eggs and meat for breakfast. Me being one. It makes me sick.
I have hilo bread at 5g carbs per slice which is fine. Try whatever you like and see what happens.

How can you ditch carbs completely. What do you eat exactly?

Dietary ketosis. LCHF. I replace the carbohydrate with fat. It’s not for everyone and I’m not suggesting anyone should try it. Just that it worked for me. I’m only commenting because I remember vividly wanting Ryvita crackers and not being impressed with the tiny amount that I could safely eat.

Each to their own. Just sharing my experience :)

No I wasn't having a go! I meant to post the top part separately and the bottom part was genuine!

What do you eat lol.

As I understand it, people who ditch carbs completely eat no veg, no fruit, no grains or pulses and only eat meat / fish / cheese / eggs etc
Some people who refer to having “totally ditched carbs” still eat above ground vegetables and may also eat berries so they are having some but still v limited carbs in their diet
Edited to remove typos

I eat as much green overground veg as I like. Each major meal is chock full of broccoli, spinach, asparagus and cauliflower. I guess I meant ditched net carbs :)

EDITED: removed a sentence, as I misread slightly.
