I eat salted nuts (not peanuts or cashews though, which for me are too much carb) - mainly almonds and hazelnuts. I don't eat the chilli ones because of the carb/sugar in the chilli coating. Still looking for a non-carby chilli option. When trying to avoid spikes in blood sugar - is it safe to eat chilli or salted nuts? I often find myself buying packets of raw peanuts, almonds, cashews etc and then they just go to waste because I don't enjoy eating them.
I thought I might try some salted or chilli ones - but the back of packets all say they have some sugar in.. so not sure if they're any better than a packet of crisps.
Thanks!
I’m not worried about the salt or chilli. I do check if they’ve added sugar though. I also avoid cashews and pistachios as they are higher carb.
The shells also shame you by their presence if you are tempted to over-indulge.pistachios aren't too bad though - as long as you keep the number under control? I think it's about 2g of carbs per 10 pistachios, which is good for a wee popcorn substitute snack in front of the tele in my daily carb-count. I use the ones I have to shell, to make it easier to not eat so many... too much trouble!
For me, it's no nuts or all the nuts. Hence I never eat nuts. We have to choose our battles!
That's it I'm off to the fridge for a slice of cheese!Yes, it's like that for me with cheese!

So true! The shells also shame you by their presence if you are tempted to over-indulge.
