You may have felt it should've been lower, but this is an excellent result. You should be proud of yourself, getting back into the normal range! Yay, you!So I was diagnosed as Diabetic on 21 April with an HbA1c of 97. I had my second test on 3 October and got results today with my HbA1c dropping to 41 and my fasting glucose was at 5.8 mmol.
I have to be happy with that though I thought I was going to be a little bit lower. I asked my doctor if I should go on to meds to push closer to non-diabetic readings she said she would not advise going on meds. That good progress made with diet should continue to improve. So we are going to wait until the next test in 6 months to assess progress then. My blood pressure has been in normal range for 3 months and my cholesterol is all fine.
Overall I am pretty good with the progress I have made so far.
That's a brilliant result being as you were so high to begin with! You should be really happy with yourself. Well doneSo I was diagnosed as Diabetic on 21 April with an HbA1c of 97. Thanks all. I was pretty happy with the result.
But I think I need to research the numbers more. I thought 41 was still high, maybe not diabetic level but pre-diabetic level?
Anyway, I’ll continue with the low carb approach. I haven’t found it too burdensome so far.
Wow, that’s amazing. You are a great inspiration. I was diagnosed three weeks ago, this really gives me hope.So I was diagnosed as Diabetic on 21 April with an HbA1c of 97. I had my second test on 3 October and got results today with my HbA1c dropping to 41 and my fasting glucose was at 5.8 mmol.
