Seriously frightening dietary advice- Dietplan uk

That's a lot of calories for a diet.
It's a way of eating not a "diet" but as I've lost 8 stone eating this way it probably goes a long way to showing the ineffectiveness of "calories in, calories out" don't you think?

For you possibly, for me - definitely not:) I would be the same weight you started out eating 4000kcals per day.

Depends where the calories come from...

I can see that "diet" - defined as way of eating as opposed to "diet"- restriction of food can be confusing.. I will amend my signature.. thanks you for pointing out this inconsistency. Henceforth I shall try to be more correct (although in strict terms I was beforehand..).

I would do the same. I use increase in fat intake to adjust my weight upwards, and reduce it to lose weight. My last 5 weighings have come in at 67,1 kg so I am pretty stable now. I do not measure what my fat intake is at all, so I do not count calories either. I just have a system that works well for me. I play with carbs intake to control bgl - simples.

I have done under 800 calories a day reducing diets on doctors orders, and simply collapsed unable to do anything - if was at the end of a gradually reducing caloric intake over several months with very little reduction in weight as I could do less and less each week.
When eating low carb it really does seem that there is another factor at work and I can consume more calories but they do not end up as stored fat - quite the reverse.
When I first started doing Atkins I lost 7lb in 3 days. I almost collapsed from the shock. Rather than being resistant to weightloss, I had a low resistance, and if not for the advice that low carb is bad bad bad, I'd probably have maintained my weight far better than has been possible with all the advice to eat carbs I have had from so many sources.
I worked out my percentage loss from my heaviest weight to a couple of days ago and it is 15.15 percent - the percentage advised for reversal on the Newcastle diet I believe.
