Hi there I'm finding it hard to control my t1. When I was t2 untill Jan 15 I was fine. Now I'm finding with my levels normal or high I shake when gripping something or even holding a news paper. It's worries me as my girlfreind keeps saying stop shaking when I don't relise I am. Thankyou for reading this. Regards
Colin

Hi @curlycol

Could you give a bit more information?
Type 1 diabetics are very different from Type 2s, so i think it is unlikely to move from one to the other. If type 2s need insulin, they are still classed as type 2, on insulin.

Regarding the shakes, do you have different symptoms when you are high, or low?
What is your insulin regime?
What do you do to correct your blood glucose when you go too high, or low?

I can't give any advice on insulin, since I don't use it, but if you give a bit more detail, then hopefully an insulin user will be along to help you out soon.

Welcome to the forum! :)

What Brunneria said Colin. Your medication might have changed, your diagnosis might even have changed, but the underlying disease is the same as what you previously had.

Any changes in your condition are likely due to changes in medication, so can you please outline how your medication has changed recently, and also how your BG levels have changed.

Welcome, Colin :)

How bad is the shaking? Can it happen at any time? Have you noticed any pattern to it?

Have you spoken to your doctor or nurse about it at all?

Your profile is showing you as Type 2 on insulin. Can you confirm that's correct?

Sorry I'm type 1 and using Humllin 3 morning and night. I work different shifts all the time too so that takes its toll on eating e.t.c. another thing I can't put on any weight either which is worrying. I hardly eat bread. But I do eat cereals. Skimmed milk with it always. The specialist told me I would be type 1 as I'm now on insulin. and my doctors notes state type 1. When I asked why he said I had raised ???? Cannot think of the term he used sorry. It's really Worting me to be honest I thought I had this under control. I can't eat 3 meals a day as my bg will go sky high. If my levels are say 5 in the morning and I have 2 weetabix my bg will go to 15 easy. So I don't eat much hence no weight gain. Hope this makes sence. Thankyou

You don't need to eat weetabix there are easier better foods that won't raise your bloods. I,e. Frozen berries in a ramekin left to defrost over night and have withsome greek yogurt in the morning or at weekends or when you have time have some bacon, eggs n mushrooms etc.
Why skimmed milk? Full fat milk would be good.
