Shape Changer!

I started a Low Carb diet after being diagnosed with fatty liver, and finding I was just over the pre-diabetic lower threshold. Although I've lost just 8lb (in about 8 weeks) my body shape has changed and most of the weight has vanished from my waist. Has anyone else experienced this? Not complaining!

Yes - I had an equator rather than a waistline, and it was rock solid and incompressible.
I have lost about 3 stones and I have had to replace anything which fitted to the waist three times now.
I have had the experience of standing up and my trousers falling down a couple of times, not in public, thankfully.

I'll hope for the same (the weight loss rather than losing my trousers!)

Yes, I've lost a number of inches off my waist, it is where my weight loss is the most visible. (I still have a lower belly overhang/apron, apparently that takes longer). I'm hoping the reduction off the waist means less visceral fat around and within the organs.

I’ve had the same - although belly overhang seems to be staying put too! I had an HBAc1 of 91 in April this year and was terrified as my toes had already gone numb! I’ve lost 3 stone from 13st 9 and am trying to get to 9.5. My HBAc1 is now 38 but although the weight isn’t coming down much, my waist size keeps decreasing. It was 108, and is now 90:and counting.

My only problem really is that my blood sugar is still spiking like billy-o if I eat anything like muesli or low carb bread, etc. It will go from 5.0 to 11 and I’m wondering now if that will ever change. I was kind of hopeful that a normal (healthy low carb but not monk-like) diet might still be possible in time...Doc says I’m still overweight and that might change when I get down to 80cm waist....here’s hoping:)

It seems that you may not be able to digest any grains any longer @Soo 2 . I have the same problem. Eating low carb is not sufficient, I have to avoid grain products too to keep my bg levels stable. It is surprising how often grain flour is added for thickening or a filler product, and it does not matter how far down the list of ingredients it is, if it is there my bg will show it.
