Sorry to hear this. I love my shredded wheat, especially on cold days with hot milk. Have to say never felt unwell after eating it.
I was hoping to find I could tolerate it now, I find these days I can eat lots of things in moderation, which 6 months ago caused my BG to go sky high.
I think some people can eat Shredded Wheat ok as we are all so different. My T2 husband has Quaker Oats so Simple every morning and his BG levels are fine but many would not touch thatSorry to hear this. I love my shredded wheat, especially on cold days with hot milk. I'd leave it well alone now. Used to be a favourite.Clearing out the cupboard I came across a packet of shredded wheat. Now I used to eat 2 of these every day but since getting diagnosed with T2 I've not eaten any or drank milk,
So with a BG of 5.4 this morning ( I rarely go over 6.0 theses days) I thought what can possibly go wrong, eat them !!! First of all I didn't like the taste, horrible, but more to the point my BG after a hour was 11.6 !!!!!!!!!
I felt awful, quite dizzy, shaking and a throbbing headache fortunatly after another 2 hours my BG is now 6.2.
Never again
I was planning bacon, egg and sausage with tomato why the hell did I have the shredded wheat

Don't have a meter. Don't check daily as Dr said not too. Last HBC1A was 39.
Magic, I love learning steps. Ok I know bacon is processed but it doesn't compare to what happens to wheat to get it into a packet.Clearing out the cupboard I came across a packet of shredded wheat. I don't know anything about the practical side of taking insulin, still diet and exercise at the moment... though my time may come. So if you insulin dependent, you don't test and you're at 39, how does that work? I should ask, does insulin dependent mean you inject insulin or does it have some other meaning.
Many thanks
Hj
I was, so possibly misled. Thank you for your note.I think he is diet only. No mention of insulin on his profile. Are you seeing insulin dependent under his avatar? There is a glitch on the forum with this. I don't see it myself.
That's a good number. Ignore doctor and test to keep it there.Don't have a meter. Don't check daily as Dr said not too. Last HBC1A was 39.

when someone has anxiety and related conditions, like @Sparrow456 , the control/focus can tip them over the edge. All health issues have to be balanced when choosing a regime we can live with.I prefer to be in control of my condition my self and not hand that control over to some one else.
