Does anyone have any ideas for snacks that’s not the usual Cheese, nuts, eggs, cold meat, avocado etc.

I have had so much of these my stomach turns at just the thought of them. I’m hoping this will wear eventually but I’m really struggling with finding alternatives.

Extra dark chocolate covered strawberries?

You're making it very hard for me to think of something, with all those other things excluded. ;)

I try not to snack but I’m hooked on fat green olives at the moment. I know you said no cheese but I fry squares of sliced cheese to make them crispy, I put them in a bag so I have them in the evening if I fancy something whilst watching tv

Thinking laterally - what are the circumstances when you want to snack? Is it a hunger thing - in which case time for a meal - or a comfort/boredom/reward thing - in which case how about finding something to do that which isn't food? Please don't think I am criticising - I'm absolutely not - but I am here with my problem-solving hat on. I was brought up not to snack, so people's methods of dealing with the wanting to are interesting, and may be helpful to others.

Not snacking works usually quite well for me. Important is that I have a water bottle in reach and a coffee machine if inside.

I’m a bin man so I’m walking around 10 miles a day. There’s no time for meals. Until the evening. I also start early and I can’t eat before work and again can’t eat a proper breakfast while at work with being constantly on the move. So I need to snack to carry me through to when I eventually get home.

Oh i usually go to the gym straight after work and then I have my own furniture making business so I’m then in my work shop. Super busy oh and I’m dealing with my 1 year old in between all of that you can see how meals can be a problem and boredom isn’t haha

Still nuts, but one of my snack foods when travelling for hours and can't easily access low-carb meals are fat balls - almond or peanut butter based. And other foods when I'm travelling but have no fridge include Cheesies, jerky and low-carb cake.
I freeze stuff that isn't dried and let it defrost while I'm out in the summer.
Not one of my favourites but what about bullet-proof coffee too?

Ah yes - I see the issue much more clearly now you have explained. I have empathy, having spent a significant part of my life working 12-hour shifts (often longer in certain circumstances) with no meal breaks. And although these were mega-stress jobs, they weren't as physically demanding as being a bin man. So I simply ate when I'd finished for the day, but even if you also have a decent breakfast, I can see that may not fit in with such a demanding day.

Therefore I offer my apologies for not having a helpful answer - I can't think of any suitable food that you aren't already trying.

No worries I didn’t think there was much choice other then the usual foods. My brain is at a point where it refuses to let me even think about them without feeling sick. Same goes for broccoli and garlic at the moment haha. Hopefully il get over it soon. But I have learnt over the past 6 months it feels like food choices are very limited for diabetics it almost feels like we have 5 ingredients that we can maybe eat in 100 hundred different ways haha. Ah well such fun ay.

Beef jerky but watch for the ones with sugar. Pork scratchings. Olives. Get some 2 gram carb rolls and make a sandwich.

I love pork scratchings

Plain or just salted will be the best ones

I'm another who'd suggest your body is saying you don't need so many snacks these days... a sign your body is healing

Grenade High Protein bars (lots of different flavours - I like them all!) or any other high protein, low sugar bars. Packet of Fridge Raiders (small pieces of chicken), Curators Cheese flavour pork puffs - they are not so hard on the teeth as scratchings for me and I like the cheese flavour), Cheese Strings, strips or individual portions, aldi also do moser roth 85% individual dark chocolate bars that are 5 carbs per bar but you could have half of a bar or quarter of a bar if you wanted. Individual packets of peanuts. Low carb sausages - I like Bratwurst. Cooked chicken drumsticks.

I have 2 boiled eggs (which I boil the night before) mashed up in a cup with butter on the mornings I start early and these keep me full for a few hours, then I have a protein bar which usually does me until I have my dinner when I finish work
