I avoided the low carb idea for years on here, but as nothing else was working and now on the highest medication he can give me, my GP gave me three months to see if I can get my blood sugars down before putting me on insulin. Well on 28th May I decided to give this low carbing a try, I have not been too strict with it but have not eatent potatoes/rice/pasta have a little bread at the weekend. Nearly instantly my readings went down, I am so pleased. They have gone from 17.s to 20.s now from 6.6 to (at the most 11 but not often). I know this is still not as low as it probably should be but hopefully will get down to the 5's eventually. My three months is up and I am due at nurse tomorrow for blood test etc and get the results next Friday and see my GP then, hopefully he will at least give me another three months to see how things go. I physically have more energy and mentaly feel better, hope this keeps up. I will let you know what my results are next week, I know it is still too soon to tell and they were high over the three months and they take it on average but fingers crossed.
