You could always try making it by hand first to see if you like it before buying a bread machine. If you do decide to buy one have alook on gumtree or similar sites as people often sell them secondhand.

Is this the rye bread that looks black and is sliced quite thinly ? I have tried this, very difficult indeed.
Or is it the rye bread that looks white/creamy ?

I find its better with a couple of tablespoons of extra water. Got one in the oven at the moment.Thank you ,I have just added this to my basket,sound easy...xox
