I'm here, fairly lazy day today, walked a bit around Blanchland and Corbridge, tomorrow off to the birds of prey centre at Kielder.

I'm sorry but had a bit of a naughty day yesterday . It was my birthday so my friend took me out for breakfast and later my other half joined us and we ended up having a drink on the beach ( only one ) Then I went to get my hair done so I feel half human again . Off to hospital today to be checked over x rays and then consultant so that will take a couple of hours . Will keep doing the exercises when I have 5 mins to spare.
 
Yay I like naughty days! Especially birthday ones, they're allowed. Hope the hospital visit goes well Connie.

...just about managed 35 mins walk yesterday lunchtime, got caught on a long call at work, so 15 more when I got home..

25 minutes on bike and a 15 minute trolley dash round Asda - only wanted a few fresh veg but bill still came to 46 quid ! Also popped into town and saw skirt in TKmaxx and Boots had an offer on No7 so that's us eating out of dregs in freezer for rest of month.
 
Good for you. New clothes better than food, any day.
 
That sounds like my mum who lost 8st. She always says nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.
 
Done 6 hours a day reclaiming my garden for the last two days and today it's dogging over the veg beds so I'm counting that in as my 40 minutes
 
Back from hospital and consultant very pleased with me and does not think I need any physio therapy as I am doing so well and does not want to see me again for 3 months !!! I was so pleased he said I could swim crawl not breast stroke as leg action better doing crawl and get on my exercise bike for short rides. No need to use crutches indoors anymore just when I go out for security. So all in all a good result. I now need to find my swimming costume !

Your mum is right, but I would add that normal blood glucose levels are much more satisfying than any sort of food.
 

Hurrah! I would buy a new swimsuit, or two.
 
50 mins aquafit, 15 mins swim, and a look in the gym with a chat to the gym coach.

Now I am gathering courage to book an induction session. I can't believe This is me! @Jamrox et al you have a lot to answer for!
 
Go for it Pipp you might enjoy a new challenge ! I used to go to gym with my other half before my leg got too bad . I enjoyed the swimming best of all plus the aqua aerobics maybe I will join again now I've got the green light !

I am more comfortable exercising in water. But who says this is about comfort? I need to increase and vary the exercises, and this is a specialist gym for older people with impairments and disabilities. I felt old when I was referred, but there are people in there 30 years older than me. I will give it a try.

The aqua aerobics is a brilliant form of exercise, especially after your surgery, @connie104. This morning we sang happy birthday to a lady in the pool. I thought she was around 70. Wrong! 89!
 
Really worth giving it a try you might enjoy it and it's another string to your bow !!!
I know, I am going to phone tomorrow to book myself an induction session. They have Pilates as well as gym sessions, but I will take it slowly. If I overdo it I will make myself ill and it will put me off.
 
Good on you ! I think I will sign up for gym again as I really fancy the aqua aerobics .Maybe I will start 1st October as it's full of tourists in the summer months and the pool is too busy.
