Steroidal Medications

I would like to ask the medical community what research is being conducted to find out the true impact of steroidal medication to treat various symptoms, i.e Asthma, Chemo, arthritis ecetera and why it is that after prolonged treatment with steroids that high numbers of patients have suddenly developed type 2 diabetes.

Cannot help you with any possible research, best to ask your G.P.
Undoubtedly there is a high incidence of becoming Type2 diabetic with prolonged steroid use. I don't think that Dr's will just give you steroids as a quick fix but will weigh the possible damage and side effects that may occur against the benefits of why they are prescribing them.
