I just read that and set sky to record!
It's interesting and also one of the reasons why I've taken my foot off the gas on my low carb lifestyle.
I'm still low but have switched from less than 30g to less than around 75g.

From what it says it doesnt sound like he did low carb properly. Disappointing.

I don't usually rant but this article really annoyed me....
The twin that did 'low carb' did not do low carb - he did NO carb. He only ate protein and no veg or fruit for a month so no wonder it was boring and he felt sluggish! Also, he was not diabetic or suffering from impaired function of the pancras so there was probably no real benefit to his health to minimise the sugar.
I always feel that these 'all or nothing' diets are misleading because none of us restrict ourselves to that degree and the doctors had no health problems that could actually benefit!

It will be interesting to see how "don't eat carbs, but you can eat fat" can be misunderstood by a doctor, but I'll be watching.

Article by the Daily Nazi and a documentary by the bbc. Enough said. Prior to my type2 diagnosis and subsequent HFLC diet, I had pains in my chest, shoulders and back. I thought my death was imminent. 3rd week into my diet and I feel great. No more negative thoughts.

This is a thinly veiled attack on immigration by the Daily Mail by attempting to marginalise the chinese, the asians and various ethnic groups selling doner kebabs.

They cut the experiment too short, so their conclusions are not fair. The low carber didn't seem to realize that there is an adaptation period, and he was still in it at the end of the month. Also he didn't seem to be doing diet properly, There is no need to lose muscle mass, and many of the negative temporary symptoms of adaptation can be alleviated. His brain wasn't foggy because ketones are not a good fuel (they are) but presumably because he wasn't getting enough ketones or glucose.
Clearly, he hadn't read Phinney and Volek's book. Was he really not eating any low carb veg? That seems odd. We'll have to watch the programme and learn more.

So apparently eating low carb has increased his BG pushing him towards becoming pre diabetic? How?! I think the whole idea of this show is to say low carb is bad. They skated straight over the fact that the high sugar twin lost a similar percentage of muscle too!
