Sugar v Fat

I eat very well but I've been doing less than 25 most days so perhaps I should up it a bit. Hey ho... Interesting life.
You need glucose as energy for your brain.
Estimates are up to 120g a day.
It's ok to have a ketogenic diet, and feed the brain that way, but even then you still need some glucose, your body will convert amino acids from your bodies protein in the absence of anything else. About 25% of the energy for your brain should be/needs to be glucose.
I'd never go below the full 120g personally, without a very good reason.

It's important to do weight resistance training on a low carb diet. The body will tend to use unused muscle before it'll dip into it's fat reserves allegedly. It's thought to be a survival thing.

Allegedly indeed. I'd love to see some real science that backs that up as ketosis breaks down fat not muscle.

If low carb causes muscle wastage I wonder how Inuits whose diet is very low carb have managed to survive for countless generations?

But not young enough to avoid reproducing.
50 words for snow, but probably no words for great grand children.

Edward is in England, he'll be glued to it tomorrow, expect his rant about 2 minutes later. Best part of the show I reckon.

... and of course he can't defend himself on here now so he's such an easy target for you.

Can't miss it, it's amazing, like a watching a train crash in slow motion.
And please, it's Edward to those that know him.

I doubt he'll lose sleep over it, he knows the score. He's offered to meet me shortly, so I'm sure he'll be fine with it.

Would be interesting to repeat in time having a just a reduced carb intake with a starting point of say 50~60 carbs, to see if weight would be lost without muscle loss. But, again, he looked a big fella, so someone of a smaller stature may get away with less. Also, If someone had less exercise, may get away with less also, and vice versa. Don't think it would end up on the recommended amounts though. But, obviously easier for them not being diabetic and access to as all the necessary tests

Lots of different peoples die young. Diet isn't the only factor. How about showing some proof that an Inuits low carb diet is the cause rather than making 2 + 2 equal 5. I thought you were all for good science.

The thing that irritated me was the single random finger prick blood test given to the high-fat diet guy after the end of the diet. It showed a small increase from his last random test before the diet and as it was towards 6.0 they said he was moving towards pre-diabetes and therefore the high fat was causing diabetes (apparently due to the pancreas going to sleep and not producing insulin through lack of use?). So much guesswork and supposition.
