surely there not all myths about high fats

@izzzi

Was it?

The comment of yours that I found particularly unpleasant was this one:
I know, it looked bang out of order.
I was a answer to a question. no way relating to a type of diet or control.
(eg; if a person eats 3 packets of "pork scratching's" one after the other, would you call that excessive or what). excluding your wee dog of-coarse.

My 2 dogs would eat their own weight in "pork scratchings" if I let them:woot:

lol I so wish I liked pork scratchings, a much better choice than my old favourite - crisps, which have sadly been removed from this household for quite some time. :(

The only reason I wouldn't want my dog eating large amounts of pork scratchings is because of the salt on them.

I do not believe the fat in them would do him any harm at all.

I'm (very tentatively) trying popcorn at the mo.
Think it was @cold ethyl who suggested it? Apologies if it was someone else...

I got a bag from Tescos, bigger than a bag of crisps, containing 11g of carbs, and 2 g fibre. Delicious!!!
http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=280771096
The exquisite irony is that this bag is also low fat and 'healthy' :hilarious:
But buried after a low carb evening meal of veg and meat or fish, it doesn't seem to be doing any harm...

The reason I am 'trying' it is because I am so ridiculously sensitive to carbs, that I need to run exhaustive tests ;)
Last week, tiny portions of wheat, over several days had me revisiting all the old carb-plague symptoms.
Popcorn is looking good, but I want to try it on repeated days, to make sure.;););)

Hmmmm @Brunneria that's an experiment I might be trying very soon. :) Oh, BTW, it's a 'no' to sugar free jelly still. It tried some yesterday and felt ill afterwards. I must try harder to find some without aspartame. :)

I think it is all total myth. Eskimos and north American indigenous peoples ate loads of fat and never really had the problems we se now.

@Enclave I think your LCHF diet is a success for 3 reasons. Control, Vegetarian and Moderate Fat. intake.
I agree I could be wrong, using moderate fat as a definition of high fat. It is just a preferred message to give others.
much of that is true; but vegetarian has nothing to do with it.

Sorry @beardie it is when your on a vegan type diet.
Just had a thought, how can I go on a "Inuit diet":confused:

Well, I used to eat a lot of penguins.
Beyond that, I wouldn't like to, they have one of the shortest life expectancies.

I agree with this. Vegetarian diets cover a vast spectrum of healthy and unhealthy foods. Same with omnivorous diets. Same with vegan diets. For example, a bag of chips, a pint of Stella and a packet of Starbursts could be a vegan meal. Not very good for diabetics though. It is about the choices we make within our chosen way of eating that matters :)

I am sure making a lot of unhealthy comments on this post.( too much veg has got to my brain)
@Avocado Sevenfold Leave me alone- Michael Jackson (HD 1080p BluRay) - YouTube :)

I'd be wary of that article.
No references.
The only detail given could have been pulled out of an elderly history-of-diet book.
And some of the 'factoids' have been disproven in recent years and recent studies.
I know, b
no credit needed :) any link I have come across belongs to everyone here and I welcome them being reposted for our shared knowledge
