Does anyone else suffer with what I can only describe as "the shakes" when their bg goes too high. Almost like being plugged in to the mains. Sorry about the weird analogy but I don't know how else to describe it. Although I do suffer a lot of stress like symptoms
So it could be that.

No, but high sugar can make me feel irritable and on edge. The usual symptoms are thirst, frequency, headaches and so on.

How high is your blood sugar when you feel like this?

I'm usually about 10/11 but after breakfast today (high carb) peaked at 19

You are getting symptoms of fluctuating high blood glucose levels.
Are you on meds?
I believe you need to discover what is spiking you and reduce the amount of high carbs in your diet.
Have you a monitor?

Having near normal levels helps bring your average levels(hba1c) down.
Do you exercise?
As this will help!

Have a read around the forum and realise what the wrong type of diet does to T2 diabetics.

Thanks so it's the spiking of my blood sugars causing this shakyness. I feel like someone is ever so slightly shaking my head.

I think you'll feel better in general if you get your levels down, but if that strange feeling persists I'd mention it to a doctor. It may just be dehydration or stress, but it's not a common symptom of high blood sugar and might not be related.

I know this is late but I wanted to say that I get incredibly jittery when my blood sugar gets to 184(US readings)- that's how I knew I had a problem. I was so sure it was low blood sugar but I tested and it was really high. Like, I couldn't even pick up my toddler because my muscles wouldn't work in my arms.

I get the shakes if my BS goes high, its definately a horrible feeling as you cant do anything to stop it. As stated above try to keep your BS level and.it may minimise how many episodes of the shakes you get.
