Symptoms due to going from high sugars to much lower sugars quickly

I don't see giving up as an option. The downsides are just so terrible, frequent peeing at the very least, weight gain, neuropathy and blindness, no thank you! Staying on low carb may be difficult but not bad enough for me to want to wander away
I typed this but forgot to hit "post reply" lol! Ok, yes, I agree totally. I mean people make different decisions, some scare me with people I know personally that are T2s as well, but I need to just focus on my own business, and maybe encourage them when I get the opportunity. If this works for me, which it is, that will be atleast an example of what they could do if they chose to.

The neuropathy thing has started with me, some time ago, I've mentioned before I was never told when I was pre-diabetic but I found it when comparing past, lab results. My cardio told me every issue I have seems to be related to nerves. Feels like that to me ;) I'm so glad to read how many are succeeding, now that's encouraging!

Wow, reading this post has really helped me too. I wondered why I felt so **** after starting a healthy diet, If you are still reading this post Laureluv, I've had a similar experience. I'm four months in and whereas some of the most unpleasant side effects of complete diet change are slowly going away, I still have a few lingering. Hope you are feeling better now:)

You can get 'the wobblies' or false hypos, when your brain has a bit of a tantrum at being denied the lovely sugary bath it has become used to, but there is also 'carb flu' which feels worse. I think the former is more easily dealt with, a drink and a tiny amount of carb will usually reassure, but the 'flu' is more likely an imbalance of electrolytes, so such things as bone broth are advised - though I'd also try a multi vitamin and mineral for a few days.

What and how much carb/drink would you suggest for this situation? What if you get a rebound jump in blood glucose?

I had a mug of tea or coffee, and found that three grapes was just enough to calm the panic - but you might need more, or recover with less. Take it slowly though - a tiny amount of carbs did the trick for me, every time.
