T1.5: Bs range/ goals

Curious as to others bs ranges and goals.
How often do you hit your target?
 
I test about 6 times a day, so let's say 30 times a week. 28/30 times a week, I'm on target

My range is before 6 mmol fasting or before a meal, and under 8 mmol after a meal. Although I'm much happier being under 7 mmol after a meal. Before exercise I aim to be between 5.5 and 7 mmol.

What I've been told however, is that I'm ok to go up to 10 mmol, pretty much at anytime, but I don't agree with this, so I stick to the numbers I know my body is comfortable with.
 
I'm not sure of the conversion. What numbers are 7,8 and 10?
Sorry to be so Uninformed. 10 just sounds high. That's about 240 here

So what is 6-8 so I know in US ? I see that a lot but not sure what they convert to and this conversion charts are a tad confusing
 
Well, here in Canada we use mmol. So I would use 6-8 mmol, which translates into 108-144 mgdl. The US system is very confusing for me too.

Azure when I put in my numbers I get what looks like an A1c value and then I need to look that up, haha. Why isn't it all the same so we can all chat and know what we're chatting about haha
 
I don't know, I've wondered the same thing. We use mmol for our A1C results too. I don't understand your A1C values, because I don't think they're in mmol or mgdl, right? I also wanted to ask you how long you've been honeymooning for? Or are you not and you just eat super low carb/no carb?

I don't think I am honey mooning. No random lows. I eat VLC because it works with my bs but even more so digestion as well as my well being and energy. Carbs bloat me and make me tired. Always have.
 
When I was first diagnosed I was testing six times a day but my doctor said just twice a day is enough, and don't have to test while on vacation. I hope he is right.

My tagets given on diagnosis are
5.5 to 7 on waking
4.5 to 7 before meals
6.5 to 8 before bed
Multiply by 18 for US numbers

I'd say in range 90% of the time and I test between 5 and 12 times a day depending on excercise, driving etc
 
I was diagnosed during pregnancy and have had another pregnancy since so probably as I started out having to be really strict have always been so. I prefer to stay between 4 and 6 and have pretty tight control most of the time.

That being said I like between 4 and 5.5. How that??? Haha

A fortnight is 14 days (literally fourteen nights) ie two weeks
A stone is 14lbs. So someone who is, say, 10 and a half stone is 147lbs (140 plus 7)

Thank you. You just made my life so much easier . I thought I fortnight was 2 weeks but I thought a stone was 20# s so everyone seemed much heavier. Haha now everyone is thin!
