8.8 this morning. Hello?! (this is up again !)

Total 40g carbs yesterday, 160g fat and 106g of protein. Total 2047 calories which is OK and I did an hour of yoga.

Coffee with cream for breakfast, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms for lunch and steak and a small amount of spinach with butter and cream for tea. I did have an apple before yoga as I wanted one.

Feel a bit grotty, but not awful. Suspect I'm fighting a cold maybe, have keto flu, or the Lyxumia had a stronger and longer effect than I first anticipated? It's been over a week since I took the Lyxumia.

Just keep going. See what happens over the next week or so.

6.7 this morning! What a ride...

Yesterday's food:

Bulletproof coffee, miso, spinach and a fried egg for breakfast.
Lamb mince with olive oil, cinnamon and garam masala, shallot, garlic, aubergine and tomatoes for lunch with a dollop of hellmans mayo for lunch

Baby spinach, avocado, tin of sardines in tomato sauce, with lime juice and olive oil for tea,
Small full fat plain yogurt, 30g walnuts and 2 squares dark chocolate for pudding.
Lots of herb tea, and an hours walk up the bog.

Really craving fresh green stuff. Hence the dinner... was planning sausage, egg, bacon but couldn't face it. Energy all over the place too.

38g carbs, 198g fat, 92g protein. 2248 calories total.

Keep going

Fbg yesterday 9.1, no medication

B 2 x hardboiled eggs with mayonnaise

L 2 x hardboiled eggs with mayonnaise

D BBQ pork ribs from Tesco deli, website said they were carb free.

Had dinner at 5pm and had two cups of coffee with cream and a slice of butter (I can't believe I am sharing this, it sounds disgusting) at 8pm. I was trying to be as low carb as possible to see if I can get my levels down.

I tested before and two hours after each meal. Results were:
Fbg 9.1 ate eggs, 2 hrs later 7.7
Lunch 7.1 ate eggs 2 hrs later 7.1
Dinner 9.3 don't know why it had gone up, only drank water and no strenuous exercise. 2 hrs later 7.2.
Didn't test before my coffee and the butter was unplanned but before bed my level was 7.2. I had a good night's sleep and was 8.3 this morning.

Bloody hell you're doing pretty well on this. Great numbers..
Thanks.

There is nothing new in my diet since diagnosis, just stuff taken out. No cakes, biscuits etc., smaller (much smaller) portions of spuds, rice, pasta, bread etc. To be fair, eggs and bacon more often instead of toast & marmalade and soup instead of sandwiches. My main meals are pretty much as before, though as said with fewer carbs on the side and a more sensible dessert (usually).
I always joked that I had a very good diet, the problem being that I also ate a bad diet as well!

You eat a lot more carbs than me.. but still if it is working for you then keep it up..
I think i'm still pretty insulin resistant so need to get a shift on with losing a bit more weight.

True, I haven't gone very low like yourself, but 100-130g is still pretty low. The changes I made were in place for a few weeks before I saw my GP and dietician (and I use the term extremely loosely), so as they seemed to be working I nodded politely, promised to eat tons of bread and spuds with every meal, then ignored the advice completely.

Yikes, not a wise move.
Paella for tea at the request of some visiting friends, not the most T2 friendly dish in the world, v high GI rice with sugary peas and low fat meat (rabbit, squid, prawn, scallops).
90 minutes pp and my BG was 7.4, highest for a few weeks, 3 hr and it is back to 5.5 so not too bad (30 and 60 mins probably very scary but didn't measure).

For perspective though, the 35g or so of carbs in the meal is about the same as 3 chocolate Hobnobs which a few weeks ago would have been a light snack (and I probably would have had 4 or 5) to put me on until my main meal so even this nightmare of a meal is a vast improvement on my former habits.

Anyway, time for a non carby snack, the last of the chaource cheese which is almost liquid now, a couple of strawberries and half a dozen almonds (I can cope with 4g of carbs I hope).
Edit: No almonds left, so cashews instead.
