Test Strips Accuracy?

Hi,

I have a nexus rx glucose monitor and I have NOT kept the test strips sealed in the container.

Do you think this will have been giving me a false (higher) reading? They are in date.

As I have been alarmed at my readings recently and now I have bought a new tub and will be keeping these strips airtight.

I guess the next few days of blood glucose readings will answer this question.

Has anybody noticed something similar?

This could well be the cause of your unexpected results. All strips that I’ve ever used, it states to keep them in the original container and to open it and close it quickly when you take one strip out. The strips also need to be used within so long after opening (this varies for one brand to another) and before the expiry date. Starting a new tub is a sensible idea. Let us know how you get on.

Thank you.. I will update ...

I have a glucoRx nexus too and it came with a bottle of test solution. If you still have yours, you could always give it a try and see if it comes out within the stated parameters on the strip tub (if you still have that...). FWIW, I think mine usually comes in around 7.5.
