Testing times

I test my levels as soon as I get up
In the morning, 5.15am, and it is between 7 and 8, but if I test it before breakfast at work, 7am, it’s approx 6?? Am I testing at the correct times?

Both are fine
Ik youre relatively new to testing, Id choose one of those times and test consitently to see trends.
Id also be testing immediately bbefore eating and 2 hrs after eating a meal / food that you dont know the impact of on your sugars - this helps work out what foods / carb level your body can cope with so that you can then adjust your diet to reduceoverall blood sugars

Best is 10x for first two month to get info and catch the right diet.
1. after wake-up - FBG
2. 3x for one meal: BM, M1, M2 (before meal, 1h after, 2h after)
3. before sleep - S

So 10x if you use FBG as BM before breakfast. Eat only 3x a day.
FBG max 5,6 (can be tricky, some people have all the time >5,6 and cannot do anything with that)
BM max 5,6
M1 max 7,7 - in case you are over, do immediately some 1km quick walk (or 10m quick walk).
M2 max 5,6
S max 5,6

It's very good to test how much carbs you can have in your meal:
1. wait for time you have max 5,6 and you have 2h of free time
2. eat chocklit with 10 grams of sugar (compute number of grams of chocklit you will eat - see the % of carbs on label)
3. measure each 15 minutes for 2 hours
4. don't move!!! Just sit and read this forum :-)
5. make a graph (time vs glucose)
=> You will get the top of glucose cycle - the time (should be around 1h after eating)
You can compute how much carbs you can eat in one meal to not pass 7,7 limit.

After you will get all the info, you can measure only FBG and 2h after meal to be sure, so 4x a day.

Good luck.

Once you can get your after meal reading down to 8 you should be fine from then on - no need to test before eating, and as you can't do much about the readings before and after sleeping maybe take a once a week check to see if there is any alteration.
