Dave l have also got a damaged Achilles strained walking 2 weeks ago. And advice with what you do for your one please? I am seeing a physio again next week but looking for all advice.
The little man who walked by my foot for the first week slamming a red hot poker has retired to part time work but not gone away. Because my walking has gone to pot my knees are suffering and today l have done a really good twist on the opposite knee it sort of crunched round so walking is interesting. :(

Oddly enough, I'm off to see a sports injury specialist tomorrow on my way up to Hull. The last one I saw (both very good but in different locations) said that the main cause is tight calves and hamstrings.

Remedies
- wear flat shoes - helps the achilles stay stretched
- standing on one leg when you can, helps the smaller stabilising muscles work
- stretching, yoga etc
- foam roller - it will hurt
- eccentric heel raises - search the net
- wobble board
- keep walking on it as much as you can

I'll see if I get any more instructions tomorrow

The best remedy is rest and recuperation!

:hilarious:My fitness regime would put yours to shame. My work is constant walking and bending. I use enough energy for me not to exercise at all!;)
At home I am constantly on the go doing chores cos the wife isn't able. So when I get the chance to. I rest!:singing:
My relaxation and joy whilst I use energy is walking the dog listening to my mp3:headphone:, also twice a week training junior football.
Sunday afternoons are for matches and the energy I use during that is huge. I enjoy it but it is tiring. :hungover:
There is always a constant stream of grandkids through our front door to run me ragged. :joyful:
My life is definitely more tiring than doing 40k!;)

Many thanks for the advice...ummm not involved in the km ml argument :-D just who gets a chance to rest and does when they can?

Today may be a 3ml hobble if l can do it as want to get the wildflower seeds (provided they are open at the farm) and seed the peri track for next yr growth at the parachute center. l do it each year in memory of Brian as we both love wilfdflowers they provide life and colour and insect food and cut flowers never last and dont do much.

l wear crocs at work rest time barefoot so guess that counts and other advice looks ok apart from wobble board and roller...dont have but can look at getting.

Many thanks and appreciate any extra advice. l hope l am fit enough in the next +/- 3weeks to go see a friend who is going to teah me to get over OCR walls at moment no blimming chance of even doing that with a ladder :-(
