The Boxing Match

Scandalous lies, I spent many a Saturday night in a bar in Glasgow.

My dad's from Gallowgate and most of my relatives live in Scotland lol
I'm Scottish through and through, if you don't believe me............. I'll fight ya :) :hilarious:

My wife couldn't watch 'Rab C Nesbitt' without subtitles when I met her.
To be fair, I'd been there too long, I needed them occasionally :)

My mum disliked Rab C Nesbit so much, she was from a smaller Scottish village, Lochwinnoch, and didn't want to be associated with 'that type of Scottish person' I thought the show was hilarious at times :hilarious:

really? well I never. All these years not liking it and its not even in Ayrshire.

It's in Renfrewshire, near Johnstone.
What great memories, it is also close to the lovely (Italian ice cream) town of largs. I am now home sick.:)

I remember the jokes that the pope wouldn't want to come to Bellahouston Park in Glasgow because it was too close to Paisley

I thought it as brilliant.
I can't say I 'worked' with people like him, as obviously he didn't work, but they were close enough to him.
The pubs were similar to his local though!
Worked and dealt with a lot of the mining community of Fife. Some thought them a bit rough & uncouth but it was a hard life and I found them great!

Went to Largs when I was young, fond memories of no sand, loads of jellyfish and near hypothermia in the freezing water in the summer. Preferred Ayr.
