Went out for lunch today and ordered a grilled skate wing with some caper butter and a pot of tea. Milk came in small jug as did caper butter. Towards the end of the meal emptied the teapot into cup and without thinking added the caper butter.. Didn't taste too bad .. maybe I need to patent caper butter tea...

Hi,

The grilled skate wing & caper butter sounds great! :)

I'm not a massive fan of tea. But if it takes the edge off the taste of liquid halitosis? I'd give it a shot! ;)

Gotta have skates on in this weather!!

I’d love the skate but I’d prefer garlic butter and a coffee with mine please!

Yes, patent it, @bulkbiker - market the, um, elixir as better than bulletproof coffee with ridiculously expensive MCT oil, but make sure it's more pricey as that seems to help with selling stuff..... Skate and caper butter is yummy and the latter in tea is probably less revolting than the b/proof coffee recipe I saw with an egg in it. Bleaurgh. :yuck:

The odd things we do...

Where I work we have a subsidised canteen with dedicated catering staff. (Yep, there is LC fair, but mainly on the mid to late morning break menu choice.)
One of my team knows the chief.. after lunch there tends to be a surplus of chips..? So he goes off once a week on the Thursday sees the chief & comes back with a load of chips for the guys. Now I don't do chips.
He knows this, but finds me strange..
However, he's come back with a nice piece of cod which I can remove the batter..
& last Thursday? A lovely bit of chicken wrapped in what looks like Palma ham! :)

Who says you can't be one of the guys & still keep the carb count down. Lol

I have been known to pour hubby's orange juice in my tea. (same bit in the fridge door and similar sized cartons!) and also in the old days before diabetes I have poured orange juice all over my cereal.

I've done similar things with the contents of the tea caddy being emptied into the tea pot, which still had the warming water still inside.
I was fortunate once to be on a French research vessels in the Southern Ocean. They feed well and skate wings were a frequent offering.. and I've never seen anything cooked with so much butter... I do like a caper myself, time and place though.

I need to keep the cinnamon in a different cupboard to the cumin... I love the one on my Alpro Plain yoghurt for breakfast but not the other.

My morning routine has been the same for over 12 months. After getting up, visiting bathroom, testing, I go downstairs and make my coffee and cream. I take the mug back upstairs and drink it while checking emails etc on my PC.

This morning I followed my normal pattern, except when I sat down at the PC to drink the coffee, it wasn't coffee. It was tea :arghh:
What the heck, and why did I do that?

Blame the autopilot, @Bluetit1802!;) (An image of Otto in Airplane springs to mind....)

Whatever was at fault, it has made me hungry! It is still an hour before lunch and I could eat a scabby donkey. This never happens with coffee & cream!

In the middle of a very lumpy ocean passage, in a squall, where I was eating "just in case", adding Chinese 5 spice instead of Cinnamon to my yoghurt didn't help matters.

I've still never been seasick. Phew.
