Apparently, chocolate doesn't raise a hypo quick enough.You can also get glucose that you just add to water. Get it from Boots.
Hypo stoppers can be varied... i have 2 sq of my fav aldi choc. I used to have sugar in milk...

If you struggle with texture issues, then why not consume liquid? Such alternatives are;
Lucozade (be warned recipe is changing)
Glucojuice
Fruit juice
Full fat coke or similar
heck at worst sugar cubes disolved in water
