The Truth Of GlucoTabs Required

What exactly is "texture issues"? I'll let you into a secret, no one like dextrose tablets. But they treat hypos quickly, you don't eat them to enjoy the experience, you eat them to correct your blood sugar and it's over in seconds.

If you can't eat food, which is the only skill a dextrose tablet requires, try glucojuice. I think there are also dissolvable glucose sachets available inthat section of boots.

The suggestions from your dietician are perfectly sensible, why not just try them.
Just where I can't eat some foods due to texture.

i dont have any disorders I dont think. Just find it hard to eat certain stuff

I don't have any larger boots. I have two small Boots pharmacies. Also, I haven't been suggested Gluco Juice

You can also get glucose that you just add to water. Get it from Boots.

Hypo stoppers can be varied... i have 2 sq of my fav aldi choc. I used to have sugar in milk...
Apparently, chocolate doesn't raise a hypo quick enough.

Well unless you specify what the texture you are trying to avoid is, it's rather difficult to offer any helpful suggestions. If you "texture issues" can more accurately be described as food preferences, or being a picky eater I will stress again, no one is eating dextrose tablets thinking how lovely they are. You just eat them to treat the hypo.

Dextrose tablets are also available in smaller boots. I've just suggested glucojuice, there you go, you can consider it suggested.

I can not eat hard fruit and veg.

No, agree with choc not releasing quick but it does taste nice!! And I'll always run to fridge to get it!! Lol!!

My insulin dependant friend has containers of jelly beans stashed around at work, and has a packet in her bag.

They are easy to chew especially the black ones.

I do not know what a texture issue is, I know I could Google it but cannot work up any enthusiasm to do so at this time in the morning.

If you struggle with texture issues, then why not consume liquid? Such alternatives are;

Lucozade (be warned recipe is changing)
Glucojuice
Fruit juice
Full fat coke or similar
heck at worst sugar cubes disolved in water

Orange juice. 200ml is exactly 20g carbs. That's what they told my parents to treat hypos with in 1983. It still works but
personally I prefer glucose sweets. Less chance of overtreating on them because I'm not wild about the taste or feel (just don't really think about it)

My mum said I'd have to put Glucotabs in water then stir it. The website says it's a chewable dextrose tablet. Which is it

Glucose tablets are usually chewable. If your mum is talking about a special kind maybe they're dissolved in water, but the easiest option is normal glucose tablets like Dextro Energy.

I beg to differ, I bloody love glucotabs

Yes, I buy the small cans (150ml) of full sugar coke and use one to treat a hypo. This also means you are less likely to over-treat

I've got Aspergers and have some issues with foods, so I understand you not wanting to chew them. I have never done this (I'm fussy when it comes to consumables) but maybe you should try some form of juice? Just make sure it's got enough carbs in it.

I can't take tablets. Can you dissolve them? I don't think you can dissolve normal dextrose tablets. Can you dissolve them in water
you dont need to be able to take tablets as you CHEW THEM! and they get eaten like food.

Drink normal Coke Cola or dissolve 4 teaspoons of sugar in water , milk etc
