Well @Djstevesire I currently have BMI of 20, I'm not overweight, I don't eat badly and I exercise daily. Yet I have pre diabetic glucose responses... As I don't fit anyone for your stereotypical assumptions about greed and laziness, what do you suggest for me because I'm all ears?
So have you started your 600 cal a day diet yet? are you using meal replacements or food?
I've intermittent fasted for the past 30 yrs and eaten one meal a day all my working life. I have an eating disorder, I just don't like eating so I avoid it until necessary.Lol

People store fat differently ..I would suggest the same thing... or try intermittent fasting...
Try the 16-8 approach for a few weeks no report back
What the research is telling us is that the fat in the liver and or pancreas is causing the t2d
Some thing to also consider is medications? Smoking? Alcahol consumption?
Also saying you don't eat badly is very subjective .. it's a fact that people underestimate there caloric intake. Not to mention most food these days isn't even food. We also have to consider genetics.

Some would argue that its the one meal a day fasting that has gotten me into this predicament in the first place.
I'd love to find answers, as low cal or low carb high fat just send my fasting levels even higher.
Moderate carb keeps me more stable.
For someone who says 'don't trust doctors' you seem very keen to behave like one.Interesting.
I have few questions
Do you sit a lot?
What does your one meal consist of?
Smoke? Alcahol consumption?
Medications? Family history?
Possible vitamin deficiency?
Sleeping pattern?
I know myself I've been this weight before with no problems.. I think my personal experience was that I was literally in bed or sitting for about 2 months straight.. NO SUNLIGHT. And lots of junk food ... went from 190 to 225 in 2 months..
So now I'm back in the gym lifting.. and doing intermittent fasting. And taking all types of vitamins.
You'd be surprised how much vitamins play a role... many ailments are caused just by vitamin deficiency...
Next time you go to the doctors tell them to check all your Levels.

OK, I also focus on HiiT weight sets, again this may not be for everyone due to the warnings if you have high blood pressure, but this has actually helped my blood pressure and glucose numbers.I agree
I don't do cardio for that very reason.
I just lift weights and when I have to trim down I fast and WALK.. roughly 10k steps a day
The example I gave is what works with fasting protocol..
Cardio is NOT recommended when Fasting... if interested check out LeanGains..
You should have used bcaas as I recommended.. ask your wife.. she'll tell you..
When the body starts burning your fat stores bcaas are required to make the conversion... if you don't supply them then th body takes them from your muscles.. also a lot has changed in the last 5 years concerning exercise science..
I've completed 2 body transformations.
From underweight to muscular.
Then I got bodybuilder muscular.
Now I'm fat with muscles... I've been studying bodybuilding for the better part of 20 years..
When I was younger I went on a vlc (800 cars per day) for about 2 months and lost only 7lbs however my metabolism was so efficient that it went into 'starvation mode overdrive' and began to shut my body down to the extent that I became very ill. I was told by a specialist that I was one of his very few patients who could honestly blame their metabolism for being overweight and that I would find it very difficult to lose weight because my metabolism reacts too well to a decrease in calories. Until a couple of years ago I ate what was considered a 'healthy' diet of sugar free, low fat products, brown bread, pasta, rice, jacket potatoes and about 6 portions of fruit and veg a day. My weight never increased much but, as predicted, I never lost much either until I started treatment for an underactive thyroid and began eating low carb, full fat. I still haven't lost as much as I would like but 21/2 stone is a big achievement for me.I totally agree.. what your speaking of is called (autophagy). .. it then process where your body repairs or consumes damaged cells..
you do not have to be in "starvation" mode for this to occur.. you just need to be fasted for approximately 8-12 hours...
Side point (STARVATION MODE) does not occur until all the fat stores have been used up... this is very rare occurrence.
Think about it. Fat is stored calories to be used when there is no food source. Only when the fat is completely burned off does the body turn to burn muscle.
And I can say that none of us low enough body fat for that to occur.
However the body does need amino acids to use in the conversion from fat to glucose in a process called GLUCOGENESis..
That's why it's advisable to supplement your fast with amino acids.. so the body won't use the ones from your muscles.
I have a Strong belief that autophagy combined with the visceral fat loss is what's causing the reversal of type2 diabetes...
you can fast (NO FOOD) just water and amino acids. I believe it will produce faster results...as your essentially just living off stored fat...

So .. let me get this straight.. you think we should do this 600 cal a day diet to reverse our diabetes because we're all weak willed fat junk food eaters.. to paraphrase what you said earlier.. but you're not following this diet yourself?

I am well aware of the benefits of fasting and autophagy and the Low Carb High Fat diet as that is what I use to control my own Type 2. I'm currently on day 4 of a probably 7 day fast.
My results are in my signature.

You make a lot assumptions. Not every 2 is over weight lazy and eats badly.im not shouting my phone sometimes capitalizes words. Im not "pushing" anyone to do anytbjng.. I find it odd that when somebody is attempting to be helpful and spread something that may be beneficial to others..

I think people with t2d should do it because it clearly works. And doctors don't tell you about it.
2. I only spoke on my personal experience.. I was layed up in my bed eating cakes and candy. Had noting to do with will.. I just enjoyed it. And now I'm borderline t2d

I know exactly what has casued my condition and how to remedy it. And I'm following a 16-8 fast protocol. And im in the gym 5 days a week. And it is working
I started my fast with a full 36 hours of no food. Going forward I will do full 24 hour fast once a week..as I believe FASTING is key. Not just caloric reduction
5.another point is to reduce time that you sit it and lay. Studies prove that sitting shuts off a good portion of your metabolism... never sit more then 20 minutes at a time
6. Why would you take offense to anything I've said. If in fact you are doing this?
7. I would love to see your results..if you did indeed improve your glucose numbers would you continue until your free of t2D. Or would you stop just cause the 7 days are up and return to your old ways?
