I started with walking myself many moons ago.. i have been obese many time during my life... where I would have be out of breath tying my shoes.. lol..To me you seem to enjoy the weights!
This is by choice and your way of exercise.
To many diabetics they have not got that choice or could manage lifting at all, they are not lazy, just human!
To a lot, simply walking, is a great way to reduce their blood glucose levels!
They couldn't possibly use strenuous exercise to benefit them. Their body would provide too much glucose and insulin and the other hormonal surges that would raise blood glucose levels!
I couldn't possibly measure my body the way you do, it's irrelevant and nothing to boast about!
At my age just to be healthy is the biggest bonus of all.
Yes I stated many of those factors earlier.
I'm pretty sure most people on this board are well aware of all this those.
This discussion was about the research..
I'm pretty sure the people involved in the study all had different reasons for having t2d.
Did you know vitamin deficiency could also be a cause.. as well as lack of sleep and even stress.
I have both, but not every day
Purely as a matter of interest, what are your body stats in terms of fat, muscle and d visceral fat, and how are you measuring them?
Men are from Mars, women are from Venus
Diabetics, they're from all the known universe, beyond the known universe, parallel universes, alternative realities, but, one thing is for sure, the rest are just pale (faulty) copies of the original!
Remember Star Trek, 'Let That Be Your Last Battlefield' and 'The Alternative Factor'?
Welcome to Diabetes.co.uk!
These are my measurements from this past Sunday and below are last week
I measure my bodyfat using both my scale that uses bioimpedence..and then I cross reference with an online calculator that uses waist to height to neck to forearm measurements..
Lastly to get my visceral fat I use calipers.. to get my subcutaneous measurement.. then subtract the amount from total bodyfat and that leaves me with my visceral fat...
The calipers put me around 22 percent bodyfat.. but the other methods put me around 30. So the difference is what's viceral.. 8%or 18 lb rough estimate...
Btw I'm at the doc and asked for glucose test was 125 and they said don worry I'm good .. unbelievable
What do you think intermittent fasting is??? Seriously lol!!!
when I do intermittent fasting I only eat dinner... which is roughly 1000-1200 calories basically the same diet of you figure in the 300-400 calories burned during weight trainjng Lol...
The 'anti-Lazarus' factor in Star Trek is a fictional nonsense. It's a TV show.
Diabetes is a very real disease which has to be treated appropriately, often by diet and sometimes by diet plus meds. The sadness is that so many just use meds and don't adjust their diets.
Thank you for saying that. too many people just rely on mess and don't do anything about it. Here is an option that is very promising ..The 'anti-Lazarus' factor in Star Trek is a fictional nonsense. It's a TV show.

I'm speaking of T2. T1 is, of course, a completely different disease.
That's why all the 'my diet' posts are flamed by other 'my diet is better' posts.
There can be only one way for many here.
Mine doesn't have that feature unfortunately.. but I wouldn't trust it as it doesn't have a way to accurately analyze it..Thank you for responding.
If you trust bioimedence as a reliable measure, would you not trust bioimoedence scales to calculate visceral fat, as some do?
How do you know how many calories I have per day now? The 600 cal a day was a failure for me. I only ruined my metabolism further. I would like you to follow your diet and then come back after a couple of years and tell us how easy it is. I too thought it was easy 5 or so years ago. I kept these thoughts to myself though and didn't talk about my experiences until I was sure. I found out it wasn't so easy after all. Then I joined the forum.

Of course it's not nonsense.
It's a series based on the inter personal reactions of people, displaced to a fictional location and time.
The interpersonal relationships are valid, which is why the series have lived beyond the period they where filmed in.

And that's why some of us were upset by the OP who seems to think his way will work for everyone, and if it doesn't then they aren't doing it properly.

Also I double check the measurement against the online calculator.... "measure twice cut once"
The original series always had a serious topical theme around the fiction!
To be critical of such a franchise that has spanned over five decades and is still growing is something I dare not respond to!
Infinite diversity in infinite combinations!
