I have joined this forum to try to get some info as my mother is a type 1 diabetic and takes injections twice a day she recently has suffered from a "hypo" nearly every day ...recently she retired to bed as normal and my father accompanied her, during the night she seemed to "hypo" and to quickly get her out of it my father gave her some chocolate .
this usually works ok.ut not this time!
this is the problem: she seemed to drop into a hypo but for some reason has not woken this was three weeks ago she is now in hospital on an insulin drip and glucose/saline drips. she feels pain and can feel any touch, her legs move all the time and her arms go through many motions , she occasionally will open her eyes but shows no sign of reference to anyone or her predicament ....needless to say we are baffled... more shocking is the doctors are mystified as well , she has had ct scan all ok..had another ct scan all ok..ecg all ok she just won't wake up ...anyway my question is... has anyone on your forum ever had any experience of this kind of thing ? the doctors seem to be waiting for something to happen which is frustrating to us...it feels like they may know what is wrong but will not tell us ? here's in hope .
