Tight foreskin!

Bad speling.
Yet another drawback of Type 2!

Seriously, although not diagnosed as a T2 until my mid-fifties, I too suffered from this condition until my thirties. I did what you should do and went to see the GP.

He referred me to a surgeon who said he thought that a simple operation to 'loosen' the foreskin might be sufficient, but during the operation (full anaesthetic) a full circumcision was found to be necessary and was carried out.

Very tender for about a week afterwards but then a large tub of E45 was prescribed and that was very pleasant!

Since then, no problems and would recommend it anyway as it's far more hygienic.

Look for liquid silk personal lube.
Odourless and tasteless ,It is ph neutral and contains a powerful skin conditioner that really helps.
Its also good for sensitive or beta strep or thrush prone people.

Best way to deal with a tight foreskin is to get the chop (how many guys reading this just crossed their legs?). Once done you will never have that problem ever again (plus you get a new friend

Yep you're right, a mate had it done in his late thirties but he was walking in loose trousers for a week with a walk that resembled a man on a tightrope.:-o

The opposites of above!!!!
Re my earlier post.. I had the op 15 years before I was diagnosed with Diabetes and it had nothing to do with THRUSH it was just a medical problem that occurs sometimes. Either way a visit to the Doc is the only way forward as we shouldnt be suggesting self medication for thrush or anything else in case thats not the real problem!!!

@carl196450 Is it possible to get the foreskin stretched under a general anaesthetic instead of circumcision? My son had this done as a child. I'm not sure if it's possible with adults though. I had read about a lessening of sensitivity and keratinisation after circumcision which was why I didn't give permission for the full op back then.

Hi , I suffered from a tight foreskin , splitting when I pulled it back , which then scared and got to tight to even pass urine at one stage ,
I went to the specialists and the first thing he said (how long have I been a diabetic) ... I didn't even no I was , 8months later , Ive been on metformin
To control my bg my skin on my hands feet and penis is great but unfortunately I had to be circumcised
As it was to late , 6months I ignored my problem before visiting my Gp who I may add wouldn't test me for diabetes when I went in about my tight foreskin and excessive drinking /peeing ..

firstly a tight forskin can be a sympton of many thing or just a natural cause, the best thing to do is to see your Gp explain the problems you are having and if needed ask for a consultaion with a uroligist. you may need a course of antibiotics or corticosteroids depending on the cause, however in certain situations the only real answe is a circumcision. If a circumcision is neede it is usually done as a day patient so in and out of hte hospital the same day. Post op you can experience pain when passsing water and occasionally some bleeding, the dressing can be soaked off the next day (best done in a bath). you will probably experience some pain while the penis heals this is due mainly to some swelling post op and also because the glans ( head of the penis) is very sensitive. Stitches are usually the dissolvable type, but you will be given a follow up appointment anyway. apart from that for the first week I would suggest sitting to pass water as occasionally you may find you spray rather than your normal stream, but that passes very quickly. I was unlucky and developed an infection but it cleared up with antibiotics.

So basically GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR.

Its called Phimosis and can sometimes be treated with creams but you will probably end up with circumcision ......no fun in and adult..

im a type 1 a couple of years ago I was in the same boat. I tried putting a ice pack on it, in the end my partner suggested a A& E visit. I went because it was beginning to be painfull. there tried a few things that didn't work it felt worse, by sheer luck an anethedist walked past and asked me if he could help I said please.he went away and brought a surgeon to A& E there done the job there and then , I was given 17 injections round the base of my penis local anesthetics and he managed to pull it back, I was in hospital ward for 3 days now I cant pull it back at all. but I'm ok .

well I was given local injections of anaesthetic when I went to hospital for help the aneathadist gave me 17 injections round the base of my penis because I was in a lot of pain then the surgeon managed to sort it out in my case because it was so tight and it had been like that for 3 days and everything there done I was admitted to ward for 3 days. today I'm ok but my foreskin wont move at all its very tight.

Very common problem for diabetics. Some good advice given above. I find the key being to keep your BG's as tight as possible (4-7), and the problem stays away without surgery.

In the interim, I found steroid cream (Daktacort) would help clear up any outbreaks. Don't be shy - see your GP or nurse - it's so common they won't bat an eyelid over it. Whatever you decide to do, doing nothing is not really an option as you will allow a condition to be created far more painful than you can imagine (acute balanitis - Google the pics if you want a fright!)
