Hba1C down from 122 at diagnosis to 79 - this i am pleased about.

Sitagliptin added to the 4 * 500mg Met i'm taking daily - not a problem.

Simvastatin added - even though my chloresterol isn't bad, not sure about this - too many horror stories about side effects - any ideas?

Sounds like you're heading in a good direction bigskip with the improvement in your HbA1c

For those of us used to HbA1c in %
122 mmol/mol = 13.3%
79 mmol/mol = 9.4%

Is it just the medication that's brought it down or have you changed your diet and/or added more exercise as well?

I'm sure you know that the sugar levels will need to come down a bit more to get under control but it's already a great improvement you've made.

A large change in diet (portions and low carbing) and lots of gym work. weight down from 119 kg to 115kg, not that impressive, but christmas and a fortnight in florida in that time.

Levels are better now, according to my meter (not supplied by doctors). Had issues with higher sugars after flu jab. hope to have lost another 3 kg and have HbA1c lower in 3 months time.
