tested my level 5 mins ago as i was feeling a bit woozy, turns out it read 3.8 so i ate one digestive biscuit to boost it up....question is...is this enough and how long after should i check again?
thanks jack but will the one biscuit raise it enough and when should i check again to see if it worked?your gli can cause hypos, For most T2 a 3.8 is ok, but better safe than sorry. I'd treat anything under 4 till you can ring your HCP and see if they want you to reduce your Gli more. and I'd go to bed with a 7 and a protein/fat snack which may slowly digest overnight.
perhaps even set the alarm for 3-4am and check.
Hi Jack, you don't actually mean you eat bananas? I thought you were a sensible man.Below 4 I too get fuzzy headed and start to become a little confused and hung over feeling.
Half a banana is like sticking electrodes on me and I'm up and running agai9n.
Very rarely.Hi Jack, you don't actually mean you eat bananas? I thought you were a sensible man.
Perfect!hi uart....already dropped from 320mg to 80mg of glyclazide daily with docs approval and thats after only 16 days low carbing
woke this morning with a reading of 6.5how did you go overnight?
might be time to ask about 40mg a day
once you're off the gli..with just metformin I can ignore 3.8 and you may be able to too
took your advice jack and split my 80mg today, half this morning at 11am and i will take other half tonight with dinner, i'll see how that goes for a few days then contact docso no lows/sweats or such overnight, that's good, the Dr is open there tomorrow, isn't it? Most new people would love 6.5 of a morning and with a 3.8 yesterday, it's time to ring him again.![]()
yes i know mate, no worries, its my decision but after having hypos in the past and ending up in hospital twice completely zonked i am always wary of too low blood readings rather than some that are a little high.......thanks for taking the timewe can't give advice, I said "might be time to ask about 40mg a day" and " it's time to ring him again." I wouldn't change meds without putting it past a dr/hcp first. unless you have prior permission
