hi everyone, sorry not been around for a few days, but have been sticking to low carb etc. Have felt dreadful and believed BG to be high, although how I felt did not correspond to readings! Any way went to Docs for blood test, result today "drum roll" no longer diabetics!! Last test 4 weeks ago and today's confirmed that BG levels were getting lower and now Normal.
Is it possible to get similar feelings to low BG ie I know what actual low BG feels like as was diagnosed 3yrs ago with diabetes although proved to be thyroid problem and disappeared .
This time have felt shaky inside but no tremors visible outwardly! Is it possible that I have not been eating enough? I have been afraid to eat a lot of the time thinking my BG levels were to high!
I do have a number of health problems so can be difficult to know what is causing what's! From today have increased what I eat, but still keeping to high fat low carbs.
Would be grateful for some kind of acknowledgement to this post, even if you don't have all the answers. Thanks in anticipation jean xx

how high did your levels get.....

its not that common to become non diabetic, usually you still are its just you have got it under control.....so well done......;)

If you are having any hyperglycaemia followed by hypoglycaemia, then with normal fasting blood glucose levels. Then you could have a form of hormonal problem.
You have already said that it's not your thyroid, but similar conditions do exist.
We cannot diagnose your symptoms, but you do need further tests, to see what is t h e problem you have, only your GP or medical team can do that.

If you are interested in other blood glucose disorders, read my links below.
There are many types of hyperglycaemia and hypoglycaemia.
Diabetes is a lot of types, so sometimes there is a misdiagnosis, as I did and only tests can tell you.

I also got my BG to prediabetic levels and manage good control but my DN insists you cannot become non diabetic, good control keeps numbers down and becomes a habit but if you start to eat things you shouldn't then the numbers will rise confirming you are still diabetic. Well done you on attaining pre diabetic levels

Well done to you too, and thanks for reply. It's not true that you can't be free of Diabetes, it was my thyroid that instigated my diabetes 2/3yrs ago, when that was sorted so was my diabetes, and I was discharged from Hospital diabetics clinic!
I will stick to the diet, but go back to docs to try and sort out what the problem is,at least I know what it's not!!
Will still carry on looking on here, all the best for you xxx

Thanks for reply, highest was 22 but realised I had a cold virus so came down as cold went!
Got it down to between 7/8 but not got below 10/12 for a few days, then dropped to 8.1 yesterday.
Not going to do readings for a little while, but keep eye on my diet.

As the saying goes 'once a diabetic always a diabetic'. It certainly can be controlled but never cured.

Good job and just stick to the diet. I would recommend testing several times a week at least because it can tend to get away with you without you realizing it. Keep us in line too :)
