Hi, could anyone recommend where I can get decent travel insurance as a type 1 diabetic? It needs to cover world wide travel and skiing.
Thanks

Not used it myself (because I travel for work and they cover my insurance) but you could check out the insurance company that Diabetes UK is aligned with: https://www.diabetes.org.uk/How_we_help/Financial_services/

Whilst it will cost more, I would always ensure pre-existing conditions are covered. I feel the most likely thing to go wrong with my body is diabetes or something related and would hate not to be covered. Also, as there are so many complications associated with diabetes, I would be very concerned that the insurance company would use diabetes to get out of paying for heart attack, kidney disease, ...

I've used the below company a number of times:

I've never had to claim fortunately, but I was happy with my cover and the ease of applying.

Perhaps a Google of similar companies would allow you to,choose what best suited you :)

I used John Lewis when I went to Columbia - it was relatively cheap compared to the others I saw and pretty clear conditions on how to claim back! Thankfully didn't have to do anything further!!

I used "insurewith" when we took my mum (with cancer' and daughter (type 1) away. Seemed ok - they had different levels you could buy as daughter was doing water sports but my mum wasnt

Thanks everyone.
I've gone with Just Travel Insurance, they get good reviews, cover the pre existing condition and are less than half the price of the others, and include America, Canada and the Carribean. Annual trip for less than £70 compared to £140+!

That's a good price. I use Insureand go and I think it cost Me £94 for Annual Insurance excluding USA, Canada and Carribean.
I will get a quote from Just Travel next time.
